About Upper Mead Care Home

MEET THE MANAGER

Lynn Lovett, Care Home Manager

Welcome to our warm and inviting home-from-home in the beautiful historic village of Henfield. Set in a quiet area at the heart of the community, Upper Mead has always been known for its excellent care and for our team’s determination to go the extra mile to ensure every resident lives their best life.

I started working nights as a care assistant when I had my two children and soon realised that care was the perfect career for me. I was thrilled to move into dementia care at Upper Mead in 1996, soon taking on the role of dementia unit leader. Having supported other managers for a number of years, I was delighted to be offered the position of home manager in 2013.

Upper Mead has been my 2nd home for 25 years. With proud achievements including my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and two outstanding performance awards, I am pleased to use my experience to nurture and develop our fantastic team.

It is an honour to work with my colleagues here at Upper Mead, they are amazing and always give 100%. We all care for our residents as we would care for our own families, with kindness at the heart of everything we do.

Embracing Life Through Personalised Care

At Upper Mead Care Home in Henfield, we offer our residents a true family atmosphere and somewhere they can call home. We love seeing smiles and work hard to ensure that those we support continue to do the things that make them happy. Whether it’s a favourite Sunday roast, a much-loved hobby, or a trip to our very own hair salon, we are here to be your reason to smile!

To ensure we are offering the best support to our residents, we conduct a meeting with them and their loved ones before they move in to create a care plan. This outlines the type of care they require, their needs and their likes which means our team can get to know our residents easily and make them quickly comfortable whilst providing 24/7 care.

Regular visits from friends and family are hugely important for the well-being of the people we support. Loved ones are encouraged to visit often with drinks and snacks available upon request. This allows you to spend quality time together and to make memories by joining in with our activities and events.

At the Heart of the Community

With an excellent reputation for each of our care types in the local area, we are proud to have formed strong bonds with other businesses and organisations in the village. This enables us to keep our residents actively involved in the community and led to some heartwarming support from local people throughout the pandemic. Our residents enjoy interacting with different groups of people and visiting local small businesses to see what they have to offer.

We also are proud to invite local community members into our home. As part of our facilities, we offer live entertainment which is one of our residents’ favourite things. Our main priority is to ensure the fulfilment of our residents and take pride in the fact that we can do so alongside our local community in Henfield.
